Lomography is a pretty new form of photography, introduced in the early 90′s by a bunch of people from Austria. The toy lomo camera is the central piece when it comes to shot out of focus, oversaturated, high contrast, blurry photos. Most of the cameras are designed to produce a single photographic effect so keep that in mind if you consider buying one. Probably one of the greatest effects is the lomo fisheye, a 170-degree view, creates an amazing circle illusion.
Lomography is about having a lot of fun while taking photos so don’t bother overthink a possible scenario just click the camera shutter release. You can resume “lomography” term to 10 Golden Rules, according to Lomography.com. You can follow or break them, it’s you choise after all.
- 1. Take your camera everywhere you go.
- 2. Use it any time – day and night.
- 3. Lomography is not an interference in your life, but a part of it.
- 4. Try to shoot from the hip.
- 5. Approach the objects of your Lomographic desire as close as possible.
- 6. Don’t think.
- 7. Be fast.
- 8. You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film.
- 9. Afterwards either.
- 10. Don’t worry about any rules!
Keep in mind that the best photos come out of spontaneous, impulsive situations. Always have the lomo camera with you and the moments you have captured share them with other fellow enthusiasts.
